A Sunday as protagonist for
Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse team which conquers the podium with the
3rd placement of Fonsi Nieto in race 2 in Magny Cours' circuit.
The Spanish rider who battled for the firsts positions even in
race 1 reachead the 5th place and closed this championship with
the 12th standing position. Regis Laconi collected positive results
too with the 9th and 8th places, positions that give him the
10th standing placement in the championship.
FONSI NIETO:
"Despite the Superpole's result of yesterday I continued
to fight together with my team and this is the result we arrived
to. I admit it hasn't been easy to maintain the race pace but
I've tried everything I could to stay among the first ones and
I did it taking home two great results. I felt this duty for
all the great work the team did during the entire season.
I already feel nostalgic because this was the last round with
Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse team in with I spent 3 years of my career
and where I found lots of friends, but I'm happy to made this
present to all of them".
REGIS LACONI:
"It has been very hard, especially to manage the front which
has always been quite nervous. The asphalt's temperature was
really different from the qualifying session and this gave me
some troubles with the tyre's choice. I made a good start but
in race 1 I had to diminish the pace loosing positions. Race
2 went better, all the choices we took together with the team
were the right ones especially the decision to put a harder tyre
on the front which gave me more confidence with the bike. It
has been a battled Sunday, but I closed the championship with
a good 10th standing position very important for me and for the
team too".
