Contrasting results for the
Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse team during this week end on Brands Hatch's
track. On one side Regis Laconi is quite satisfied because he
has been able to achieve the 8th and 9th position making
very good starts demonstrating strong temperament and determination.
On the other side there's Fonsi resentment for not being able
to find the way to reach his partner even if he takes home good
points. Now the championship will take a break and next round
will be in Germany on Lausitzring track the 9th of September.
REGIS LACONI:
" I can tell to be quite satisfied of this two races.
I started very well both the races and this gave me the possibility
to get positions from the beginning even if I hadn't the same
race pace that the firsts had. The 8th position I reached
in race 1 is dued in part to some good riders' mistakes, but
I can tell that I realized in reaching good times. In race 2
we decided to change the front tyre with a harder one, this didn't
improve the race pace but it made me have a more stable and defined
bike especially in bends. I' m sorry Biaggi over passed me in
the last lap but he definitely was riding too fast for me. Now
I' ll go on vacation and I'll recharge the battery trying to
be more than ready for these last three rounds".
FONSI NIETO:
" Excluding Friday's free practices, this week end has
been a disaster for me. In race 1 I couldn' t push and as consequence
overpass. I fought against Martin but I couldn' t do anything.
In race 2 we changed the engine but things didn' t go better
. I tried to push but when I saw Biaggi over passing me and just
ride away I lost my morale".
