The ISILON MSS Discovery Kawasaki
squad are back to their full complement of riders as the team
returns to Oulton Park for round eight of the Bennetts British
Superbike series. Michael Rutter has missed two rounds due to
a broken wrist sustained at Snetterton back in May. Subbing at
Mondello and Knockhill for Rutter on the Superbike was team-mate
Stuart Easton, who impressed the team with his commitment and
consistency on the litre bike. He will now be allowed to concentrate
on scoring podiums on the improving Ninja ZX-6R.
Michael Rutter, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R
"The wrist isn't too bad at the moment. The plaster
came off on Monday and it seems to be a lot better. Obviously
it's not 100% right but I'm fit to race. As far as results go,
I'm just going to see how it goes and hopefully get some good
results. I love Oulton Park, it's a brilliant track, although
for someone returning from injury it's quite a physical circuit,
especially with the new chicane in place. Still, I'm going to
be giving 100% as always."
Stuart Easton, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R
"I've enjoyed riding the Superbike but I'm now quite
pleased that I can simply concentrate on the 600. We were in
quite good shape at Knockhill despite the DNF, so I want to build
on that around Oulton, which is one of my favourite tracks. With
more punch from the Ninja ZX-6R we should be in a position to
hustle for a podium. That's the aim."
Nick Morgan, Team owner
"We're very happy to have Michael back after missing
those two races out due to injury. What it has shown us is that
Stuart can do the job on a Superbike, which we're all very pleased
about. We're back to full strength this weekend and raring to
go."
Jack Valentine, Race Team Manager
"The 600 has had some work done on the dyno so now it's
got a bit more punch so let's hope we can improve our race performance
on the ZX-6R. It's crucial for us to see where Michael's fitness
is on the Superbike and we hope he notices improvements on the
bike, as he's yet to ride the ZX-10R with the new airbox and
trumpets in place. Both riders love the track and it's my 'home'
round really. So let's hope we get some results and also get
some good weather as we don't want a wet/dry lottery like Knockhill
was."
Stuart Simmonds, Joint Team Owner
"It's important to see how Michael's wrist holds up
to the stresses of Oulton Park, but it's good to have him back
and the team at full strength. Let's hope Stuart can get that
podium!" |
