It has been a difficult day
for the Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse team which ended this week end in
Monza with results under the expectations. Fonsi Nieto has been
constricted twice to retire because of some problems and
this happened to Regis Laconi too in race 1. The french rider
saved the situation taking some points to the team, he got the
8th position in race 2 even if he had some problems with the
rear chattering. Mauro Sanchini got the 17th position in race
1 but he retired in the race 2 but he is quite satisfied of the
positive improvement his team did during these days.
REGIS LACONI:
" I can't explain it, today the chattering followed
me during all the round. In race 2 it wasn't possible to continue
and I didn't want to crash. Between race 1 and 2 we did some
changements but it didn't solve the situation. I did a good start
and I entered the first chicane closing my eyes, then I pushed
but after 4 laps the problem returned. I finished the race even
if it has been extremely hard taking home a good position considering
the problems".
FONSI NIETO:
" Telling the truth I want to forget this week end the
faster I can. In race 1 the engine was loosing oil on the tyre
and I risked three times to crash, so I went to the box. In race
2 I've got a problem to the air-box and everyone
passed me and the only thing I could do was to go straight to
the box".
MAURO SANCHINI:
" I'm satisfied for the job we did during the races.
In both of them we had ome problems with an oil slack and if
I have been able to finish race 1 but not race 2. There still
a lot of work to do but the enthusiasm we had is still there".
